Crazy Brian Wilson Confronts Giants’ Team President, Demands World Series Ring (Video)
With his ridiculous black beard, former San Francisco Giants closer Brian Wilson certainly looks crazy. And, at times—like when he showed up to the ESPYs in a spandex tuxedo—he has certainly acted crazy. However, I always assumed that it was all an act, part of a public persona that makes him more marketable.
Now I’m not so sure. After last night’s Giants-Dodgers game in San Fancisco, a 3-2 win for the home team, Wilson, who now plays for the hated Dodgers, ran over towards the stands on the Giants’ side of the field and berated team president Larry Baer for not presenting Wilson with his 2012 World Series ring—as in, right there, in front of everyone.
Apparently Baer was absolutely stunned. For one thing, you don’t often see players running into the stands to yell at team execs. For another, the Giants say they have repeatedly tried to set up a little ring ceremony with Wilson, but that he never got back to them.
Of course, it doesn’t really matter whether the Giants had tried, like they said, or not. Yelling at team executives about getting your bling is going to come off as weird and inappropriate under most circumstances.
Way to go, Brian Wilson.
