Kendrick Perkins Startles Turkish Basketball Player by Popping Dislocated Finger Back Into Place (GIF)
On Saturday, the Oklahoma City Thunder kicked off their preseason schedule in a pretty unique place: Istanbul, Turkey. Their opponent was Fenerbahce Ulker, a powerhouse in the Turkish league, and obviously the whole point of the exhibition was to grow the popularity of the NBA outside North America.
So how was the game? Fairly competitive, actually. The Thunder won, but the score was only 95-82, so apparently they are playing some pretty solid hoops over there in Turkey.
That said, the game wasn’t exactly like any old NBA game. There were a few oddities…such as this:
What the hell is going on here, you say? Well, the one thing we know for sure is that Kendrick Perkins was trying to pop his dislocated finger back into place. As for the Fenerbahce player, that’s a different story. As far as I can tell, he was trying to sneak up behind Perkins and attempt to scare the ball away from him—a solid strategy—when he suddenly noticed the gruesome dislocated finger and got freaked out.
I guess the Fenerbahce guy isn’t used to this sort of thing in the Turkish basketball league.
