Adrian Peterson Gives Emotional Pre-Game Speech To Teammates (Video)
As you doubtlessly know by now, the Minnesota Vikings’ Adrian Peterson recently lost his two-year-old son in a tragic act of violence. On Sunday, he made the difficult decision to go ahead and play with his teammates against the Carolina Panthers, and he made a short but effective speech to his team before the game.
The speech seems innocuous enough on its own, but if you remember the immense pain behind Peterson’s words they take on a lot of added significance. Video of the speech was posted to the Vikings’ Instagram account and can be seen below, and you can read the transcript of Peterson’s speech here:
“Hey, I just gonna let you know, I love you guys, man. I’m about to ride out for four quarters with you guys. Any of you guys would do the same. I know you guys would do the same. Let’s go out there and get the ‘W’ man. Let’s go get it on three. 1, 2, 3, go get it.
Your heart’s got to go out to Adrian Peterson when you see something like this. I’m sure we all hope he finds some small amount of relief from his son’s death when he’s out on the field.
