Three Bengals are No Match for Calvin Johnson (GIFs)

Question: How many members of the Cincinnati Bengals secondary does it take to cover Calvin Johnson?

Answer: I don’t know, but it sure isn’t three.

Three, of course, is the number of Bengals defenders who were covering the Detroit Lions’ star wide receiver during the fourth quarter on Sunday when, down by seven, Matt Stafford launched a Hail Mary into the end zone. And yet, despite the triple team, it was Johnson, not the Bengals, who came down with the ball.

Is Johnson good? Absolutely he is. But no secondary should be that bad, should they?

Don’t take my word for it, though. See for yourself…from three different angles:

The miracle here isn’t that the Lions scored on this play. It’s that the first place Bengals somehow won the game anyway.

Seriously. First place Bengals. Final score: 27-24.
