Andrea Iguodala Destroyed the 76ers with Showtime Dunks and Behind-the-Back Passes (GIFs)
In his eight seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers, Andre Iguodala established himself as one of the NBA’s premier defensive players. Unfortunately, that didn’t prevent the Sixers from trading him to the Denver Nuggets in exchange for the oh-so-breakable Andrew Bynum in the four-team deal that also sent Dwight Howard to the Lakers—a deal that didn’t work out very well.
This year, of course, Iguodala finds himself playing with Stephen Curry and the loveable Golden State Warriors. And on Monday night, the Warriors (Philadelphia’s first NBA team) rolled into Philly’s Wells Fargo Center looking to hand the 76ers their first loss of the season—which they did, handily, thanks to a career-best offensive performance by Iguodala.
Of course, it’s not just the fact that Andre dumped 32 points on his former team that is impressive. It’s the fact that he did it in style.
First there was this ridiculous behind-the-back assist:
Then there was this half-court alley-oop dunk set up by a brilliant pass from Stephen Curry:
Final score: Golden State 110, Philadelphia 90.
If you thought the Golden State Warriors were your favorite team of the playoffs last year, you’re going to love them this year.
