Stat Line of the Night — 11/12/2013 — Andrew Wiggins
The world was waiting to witness Andrew Wiggins, and the highly-touted freshman didn’t disappoint when his No. 5 Kansas Jayhawks took on the No. 4 Duke Blue Devils in front of a national television audience last night.
After struggling out of the gate and getting into some foul trouble, Wiggins settled in and began to show everyone why he is expected to go first overall in the 2014 NBA Draft. The end result was 22 points, 8 rebounds, and one block, but his biggest contribution came with less than two minutes remaining in the contest, as he hit a step-back jumper and a fast-break dunk within 16 seconds of each other to seal the Jayhawks’ 94-83 victory.
Wiggins was taking on another highly-touted freshman in this contest by the name of Jabari Parker. And while Parker also impressed with a game-high 27 points, it was Wiggins who emerged with the win and the “Stat Line of the Night” for Tuesday, November 12, 2013.
