Stat Line of the Night — 11/14/2013 — Tyler Seguin
When the Dallas Stars acquired Tyler Seguin from the Boston Bruins during the offseason, they believed they were getting a player that could be among the league’s top scorers someday. During last night’s game against the Calgary Flames, they received a glimpse of that magical goal-scoring touch that many felt Seguin possessed when he was drafted with the second-overall draft pick in the 2010 NHL Draft.
Playing alongside the equally-skilled Jamie Benn, Seguin simply couldn’t be stopped on this night, as he netted a career-high four goals and added an assist to top off his ridiculous five-point night. Benn would get involved in each of those goals as well, as he finished with one goal and five assists of his own during the Stars’ 7-3 victory over the Flames.
That performance of a lifetime from Seguin catapults him into fifth in the league in points (22) and a tie for third in goals (12). And it also earns him “The Stat Line of the Night” for Thursday, November 14, 2013.
