Belmont Fans Distracts Tarheels Free Throw Shooter by Singing Miley Cyrus’s ‘Wrecking Ball’ (Video)
Chances are you were not paying all that much attention to college hoops yesterday while you were watching NFL action. After all, it’s only mid-November. The NCAA basketball season is only two weeks old, and although there are a few exceptions (like Michigan State-Kentucky last week), most of the top programs are beating up on the minnows right now to get warmed up for the big games in December and January.
Case in point: yesterday the UNC Tarheels took on the Belmont…wait a second, I have to look up what they are called…ah yes, the Belmont Bruins. The Bruins, of course, are probably most famous for almost upsetting #2 seed Duke in the 2008 NCAA Tournament, so they were supposed to be one of the gimme wins on the Tarheels schedule.
Of course, that’s not how it played out. While we are all watching the Saints beat the 49ers, the Belmont Bruins were giving us the first big upset of the college basketball season.
So how did they pull of the 83-80 upset at UNC? The art of distraction.
Check this out:
Yep, that’s one loud Belmont fan using “Wrecking Ball” by Miley Cyrus as a weapon against James McAdoo. And it worked.
Well done, Bruins fan. Well done.
