High School Hoops Player Sinks 80-Foot Game-Winning Buzzer Beater (Video)

80-foot high school basketball buzzer-beater

We saw a bunch of really great buzzer-beaters in 2013. The 55-footer that won the New York State Class AA high school boys championship back in March was pretty insane. The no-look backwards over-the-head buzzer beater from the Spanish pro league was pretty amazing, too.

However, the one you are about to see is, without a doubt, the buzzer-beater of the year. It comes to us from a high school basketball game in Emporium, Pennsylvania, between the Ridgeway Elkers and the Cameron County Red Raiders.

With the Elkers up 43-41 and about 20 seconds left on the clock, the Red Raiders tried and missed two three-pointers. Then, when the visiting Elkers recovered the second rebound, the home team had no choice but to foul them and send them to the line with only three seconds left.

Obviously, if Ridgeway made both of those free throws the game would have been over. However, they ended up missing both of them. And when Cameron County’s Dylan Clingan came up with the rebound on the second one, he let it fly from about 80 feet away—for the win.

Take a look:

I feel happy for Dylan Clingan, who just had the greatest sports moment of his life. However, I feel bad for his future children and grandchildren. They are going to get so sick of hearing about this.
