Stat Line of the Night – 12/11/2013 – Stephen Curry
There were a lot of solid performances in NBA action last night. Ageless wonder Tim Duncan threw in 21 points, 16 rebounds, three assists, and two blocks in San Antonio’s thumping of Milwaukee. Kevin Love notched 26 points, 15 rebounds, and five assists for the second time in as many nights. And Russell Westbrook had 27 points, nine assists, six rebounds, and two steals for Oklahoma City.
However, when you take everything into account, the best player in the NBA last night was Golden State’s Stephen Curry. He had 33 points, 10 assists, four rebounds, and three steals, all while playing a robust 44 minutes of Golden State’s 95-93 win over Dallas.
Do those numbers make your eyes pop? Not quite. But of course, if Curry averaged those numbers for the year he’d be the MVP of the league. And more importantly, on a night when the Clippers also won in Doc Rivers’s first game back in Boston, Curry’s game made sure the Warriors kept pace in the Pacific Division—which means he earns our “Stat Line of the Night” for Wednesday, December 11, 2013.
