Nebraska’s 99-Yard Touchdown in the Gator Bowl Is the Best Play of 2014…So Far (Video)
Georgia Bulldogs fans already learned this season what it’s like to be on the losing end of a remarkable touchdown play. Their team pretty much had the Auburn Tigers beat on November 16 when the luckiest of lucky bounces saved Auburn’s season. So if you asked them, they’d probably tell you that they didn’t need another lesson.
Nevertheless, another lesson on misery is exactly what they got yesterday.
The Bulldogs were trailing the Nebraska Cornhuskers by just five points with five minutes left in the third quarter of the Gator Bowl. They weren’t exactly on the verge of victory, but the game was most definitely not out of reach. On 3rd and 14 they had the Huskers pinned on their own one-yard line, so if they made just one more stop, they’d get the ball back with fantastic field position.
Unfortunately, they did not make one more stop. Instead, Nebraska QB Tommy Armstrong threw a bomb to WR Quincy Enunwa, who eluded a defender and ran it in for a 99-yard touchdown.
How ’bout that Nebraska offensive line?
Anyway, for UGA fans, that probably didn’t sting quite as much as the Auburn game…but it probably didn’t feel good either.
