Watch J.R. Smith Untie Shawn Marion’s Shoelace (Video)
Apparently New York Knicks sh*tdistruber J.R. Smith is tired of Andrea Bargnani getting all the attention these days with his terrible basketball playing. So last night against the Maverick in Dallas, he upped his game a bit.
Of course, by “upped his game a bit,” I do not actually mean J.R. Smith tried harder to play better basketball. Instead, I mean he tried harder to be an ass. And he succeeded.
With Dirk Nowitzki at the free-throw line with 2:08 left in the second quarter, Smith bent over and untied the shoe laces of Dallas’ Shawn Marion—which is exactly the kind of stuff you used to do when you were in, oh, the second grade.
Did Marion notice? Sure he did. But he didn’t do anything, because everyone in the league expects J.R. Smith to do stupid stuff in an attempt to elicit a response. So no one bites anymore.
In any case, take a look:
Between this and Nets coach Jason Kidd intentionally spilling water to delay a game, basketball fans in the New York area are being treated to some real classy behavior this year. Keep up the good work, guys!
