Wes Welker Gets Photobombed at Knicks Game
New Yorkers have no obvious beef in this year’s Super Bowl, as none of the city’s usual football rivals are playing in the game. However, we all know Wes Welker used to play for the New England Patriots, and in the minds of New Yorkers that means he will always be a New England Patriot. So you know that, even if they’re pulling for Eli’s brother Peyton, they’ll at least give Welker a tough time.
Knowing this, you would think Wes would want to avoid any unnecessary interactions with New York sports fans while in town for the Super Bowl this week. But no. Last night he had a “wide receivers’ night out” with Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker at the Knicks game. And when the trio got put up on the jumbotron, the guy sitting behind Welker was kind enough to remind him of that time he choked in the Super Bowl against the Giants, dropping the pass that might have won the Patriots the game.
