For Some Reason, Ref Gives Tony Parker a Mulligan After His Embarrassing Free Throw Fail (Video)
San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker isn’t the best free throw shooter in the league. However, he is above average and a long, long way from the bottom of the list. This year, for example, he’s hit his FTs at a solid clip of .803, which puts him 51st in the league. Nothing to brad about, but no reason to be ashamed.
That being said, you can bet Parker was pretty ashamed of the ridiculously terrible free throw attempt he made last night against the Bulls. After a Joakim Noah technical sent him to the line, Parker threw up an embarrassingly feeble shot that traveled all of six feet.
Luckily the referee was there to save Tony’s ass. He ruled that he distracted Parker during his attempt and granted him a do-over. However, the ref made no discernible movement and you couldn’t hear a peep out of him on the courtside microphones. So it’s quite possible he just felt bad for Tony.
Take a look:
I may not be an NBA superstar with millions and millions of dollars, but at least I’ve never taken a free throw that bad.
Don’t you love it when you feel superior to professional athletes?
