Brawl Almost Erupts at the End of Rockets-Jazz Blowout Because John Lucas Is an Idiot (Video)
Apparently playing for the Utah Jazz is taking a bit of a toll on reserve point guard John Lucas. Last night, in the final seconds of a blowout loss to the Houston Rockets, the guy nearly started a brawl for no reason whatsoever.
The Rockets had the ball with a huge 38-point lead and just 11 seconds left in the game. So obviously, instead of bringing the ball up the court with any intent to score, Francisco Garcia just dribbled slowly to run out the last few seconds, and it seemed like both teams were on board with just finishing up and going home.
However, Lucas had other ideas. With six seconds left he stole the ball from Garcia, and tried to score. And this nearly incited a brawl. Obviously.
Take a look:
I’m sure some people out there will say things like, “hey the game isn’t over until it’s over.” But that’s stupid. Get a grip. The game was over, and the Rockets were doing the respectful thing by taking their foot off the gas.
As for Lucas, I hope he enjoyed himself there, because once the NBA reviews the footage, that nonsense is going to end up costing him a nice chunk of change.
