Fan Runs Onto Ice During Leafs-Lighting Hockey Game at ACC
An injured starting goaltender, a riff between their back-up and head coach, and a three-game losing streak has everyone in Leaf Land (home of the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs) going bananas.  This is nothing new, however, as the team has experienced its fair share of struggles over the past decade…or four.

For those who don’t remember, the last time this sort of thing happened, Leafs fans resorted to throwing waffles on the ice.  As for tonight, during a 5-3 loss to the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning at the Air Canada Centre, one fan figured he’d save the perfectly good waffle and toss himself onto the ice instead.

It all took place during a break in the action late in the third period, and it featured some fancy moves before ending with a slide into the faceoff dot to the right of Lightning goaltender Ben Bishop.  That’s when the dude decided to pick himself up off the ice and leave in the most polite manner possible—it’s the Canadian way, eh!
