Man Catches 14-Foot Hammerhead Shark at the Beach (Video)
I’d be surprised if a disclaimer like this would even be necessary, but since you never know, here it is: Don’t try to catch sharks at the beach. It’s dangerous and, I imagine, pretty difficult, too—although you wouldn’t think so after seeing Viktor Hluben and company do it in a recent video.
Hluben and his buddies didn’t snag just any shark, either. Theirs was a 14-foot, 700 pound hammerhead shark right from the beach. And luckily for the shark, Hluben and his friends “are a group of big game anglers with unconventional methods and conservation at the heart of our practice.” So, naturally, they let the massive shark go after catching it, which was probably a good move for everyone involved.
Besides, there was almost no reason to keep the shark around anyway, since Viktor Hluben captured their catch on video to be preserved on the internet forever. You can watch it below. It’s not quite as good as Jaws, but it is better than Orca.
