Lokomotiv’s Geoff Platt Scores an Incredible Juggling Goal in KHL Playoffs (Video)
I’d bet anything that, as a kid, Geoff Platt dreamt of scoring the Stanley Cup-winning goal for the Toronto Maple Leafs. After all, he was born in Toronto, and that’s what young athletes do—they dream about winning championships for the hometown team.
Of course, this dream is never going to come true. Platt is a professional hockey player, and he did make it to the NHL for a spell. But for the last six years he’s been playing in the KHL, and at the age of 28 it’s unlikely the Leafs are going to be calling any time soon.
Nevertheless, yesterday Platt did achieve a little bit of hockey glory. Though his team, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, got eliminated from the KHL playoffs in the conference finals, Platt scored one of the most amazing hockey goals anyone anywhere has scored all year.
While driving to the net, a pass from his teammate hit his stick and bounced into the air. He then proceeded to juggle the puck with his stick and whack it out of mid-air, past the goalie.
Take a look:
Now that’s a goal.
Platt may not be an NHL star, but the guy’s got some soft hands, and today, at least, he is the biggest hockey star on the internet.
