Aaron Hernandez Now Indicted for July 2012 Double Murder
Last summer, when the police arrested Aaron Hernandez for the execution-style murder of his “friend” Odin Lloyd, there were reports that he was also being investigated in connection to an unrelated double homicide in July of 2012.
Well, today Suffolk Country DA Daniel Conley held a press conference and announced Hernandez has now been indicted for that, too. They won’t have to arrest him this time, though, since the former New England Patriots tight end is already in jail awaiting trial for the 2013 murder.
The victims in the 2012 slaying were Daniel de Abreau and Safiro Furtado. Conley says they had some kind of altercation with Hernandez at a night club, which led Hernandez to stalk, ambush, and execute them in their car. Apparently everyone involved has gang connections, but police think this whole thing simply stemmed from whatever went down at the club.
Police say Hernandez pulled the trigger, and that they have recovered the car and weapon allegedly used.
Six weeks later, Hernandez signed a $40 million contract extension with the Patriots.
