LeBron James Watched “Maleficent” at the Theater by Himself After Game One Loss (Photos)

“Maleficent” is described on Rotten Tomatoes as “the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the classic ‘Sleeping Beauty’ and the elements of her betrayal that ultimately turn her pure heart to stone.”

Doesn’t quite sound like the type of movie that might help you get revved up for an important playoff game, like “Remember the Titans” or “Rocky IV” would, now does it?  But it seemed to do the trick for LeBron James.

You see, LeBron was spotted at a San Antonio theater just a few miles from where the Miami Heat were staying on Saturday night—just two nights after he was forced to exit his team’s Game One loss in the NBA Finals because of severe cramping.  But rather than watching some testosterone-filled flick to get him pumped-up heading into Game 2, he took in “Maleficent,” starring Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning.

And if that wasn’t strange enough, he did so alone.  No teammates.  No security. No Pat Riley.  Just LeBron.

Was “Maleficent” a good choice for James?  Apparently, yes.  LeBron would follow up his movie night with a terrific Game 2 performance on Sunday, scoring 35 points and grabbing 10 rebounds during a 98-96 Heat victory.

So what’s LeBron watching tonight?  My money’s on “Blended”—because we all know he’s already seen “The Fault In Our Stars.”
