Holland’s Robin van Persie Scores Amazing Header for His First Goal of the 2014 World Cup (Video)

In 78 minutes of action, Robin van Persie made quite the impact on Holland’s opening match of the 2014 World Cup against Spain.

He scored two goals before being substituted off for Jeremain Lens, but it was van Persie’s first—and his team’s first—that everyone will be talking about.  That’s because it came by way of a gorgeous header on an equally gorgeous cross from Daley Blind, who was standing just inside the halfway line when he delivered the ball towards the top of the Spanish box.

We expect there to be plenty more great goals like this one throughout the next 30 days, but don’t be surprised to see Robin van Persie among the list of nominees for “Goal of the Tournament” at the end of the 2014 World Cup.
