Nigerian World Cup Viewing Party Hit by Suicide Bomber Attack
The tagline for Total Pro Sports is “the lighter side of sports,” but there’s nothing light about this. A World Cup viewing party in Nigeria was victim to a suicide bomber explosion on Tuesday night, and as of this writing the full casualty account still isn’t known.
The World Cup viewing party was being held outdoors at a designated viewing center, and was wide open for a suicide bomber to detonate a tricycle taxi that, according to the Associated Press, was “packed with explosives.” The report also states that no one has come forward as of yet to claim credit for the attack, although terrorist organization Boko Haram is suspected as they have targeted football viewing parties like this one in the past.
