Adios Spain! Defending Champs Eliminated From World Cup Following Loss to Chile (Videos)
Back in 2010, it was Italy bowing out in the first round of the World Cup after taking home soccer’s most prestigious trophy four years early.
In 2014, it is Spain whose title defense has come to a shockingly early end, as losses to Holland and Chile in their opening two matches of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil have eliminated them from title contention.
Spain was still very much alive following their first loss of the tournament, a 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Holland. But then, during their second match vs. Chile on Wednesday, this happened in the 20th minute:

Spain had their chances to cut the 2-0 deficit in half, but they failed to make the most of those opportunities:
