Let’s All Watch This Virginia Baseball Go Apesh*t During Three-Run Rally (Video)
The 2014 College World Series Finals between Virginia and Vanderbilt got underway last night. Unfortunately for the Cavaliers, while they got off to a good start by scoring two runs in the bottom of the first, thing sort of unraveled for them in the top of the third. And by “sort of unraveled,” I mean starting pitcher Nathan Kirby came totally unglued and allowed nine runs to cross the plate.
Seriously, it went strikeout, walk, double, walk, single, walk, walk, walk, error, sac fly, hit by pitch, double, and strikeout. Nine runs on 13 at bats.
After that, you wouldn’t have blamed Virginia’s fans for being a little dejected. However, you don’t watch your team go 52-15 on the year and not pick up a little confidence. So, when the Cavaliers responded to the nine-run onslaught by scoring three runs of their own in the bottom of the third, cutting the deficit to 9-5, the fans really got into it.
Especially this lady:
Yeah, she was f*cking pumped. Unfortunately for her, UVA scored just three more runs after that. Vandy held on to win 9-8, and now they are one win away from the school’s first ever national championship in a men’s sport.
