Tide Uses Hype Surrounding LeBron James’ Decision to Create Brilliant Laundry Detergent Ad (Pic)
If you’re like me, you’ve been checking your phone 50 times a day for the past week to see if there’s any news about LeBron James. It’s not that my team has a chance of signing him, either, because they don’t. It’s that LeBron is a generational talent who can single-handedly shift the balance of power in the NBA. And the fact that he gets to basically bring the entire league to a halt is fascinating.
So the hype surrounding The Decision 2.0 is huge. Yesterday somebody started a rumor that LeBron was going to announce his decision at 3:30 P.M., which spread across social media like wildfire. Pretty soon people were gathering outside his house in Akron, which was funny but also really creepy.
Now the official Twitter account of Tide laundry detergent is even making use of the situation:
I’ll admit that’s pretty funny. I had no idea something as mundane and boring as laundry detergent could be so edgy.
That being said, I’m pretty sure Tide can’t do anything to all those LeBron Cavaliers jerseys that got burned to ashes.
