German Forward Lukas Podolski Shared a Pretty Sweet Moment with His 6-Year-Old Son on the Pitch After Winning the World Cup (Video)
There are lots of really awesome things about your dad winning the World Cup. Or at least, I assume there are. I don’t know from experience. My dad played Division II college soccer, but he never won anything, and by the time I was born he had two blown knees and thirty extra pounds.
But I digress. Like I said, there are lots of really awesome things about your dad winning the World Cup—like wealth, fame, notoriety, partying with Rihanna. But the coolest thing, if you happen to be six years old, is that you can go out onto the field after the game, in the middle of a stadium that holds 80,000 people, and kick the ball around.
That’s what six-year-old Louis Gabriel Podolski got to do with his dad, Lukas Podolski, on Sunday. Germany won the World Cup, then he got to go out onto the pitch at the world famous Maracana and score a penalty kick off his old man.
When he goes back to school in the fall, his “What Did You Do for Summer Vacation?” essay is going to totally kick ass.
