New Bike Cams for Tour de France Will Make You Fear and Respect Cycling (Video)
It’s easy to gloss over the world of cycling. There’s only one notable event, which takes place thousands of miles away in July, all the former icons are dopers, and it’s a little boring to watch.
The first two issues are still a problem, but the new cameras being mounted on bikes are turning the Tour de France into something of a thrill ride. Mounted on the front and/0r backs of the bikes, these 3 oz. cameras catching the action from handlebar level, and it’s pretty scary.
Imagine the running of the bulls, but three times faster. Actually, no. Don’t imagine anything. Just watch this video:
HOW IS EVERYONE NOT DEAD?
The camera’s, despite their light weight, are still being refused by some riders on the hill stages, saying that event that 3 oz. makes a difference.
The footage from these cameras isn’t streaming live, so you’re not going to see any breaking crashes or spills, but I’m sure that day will come soon enough. You can still see them in the Tour de France highlight shows, though. If that’s a thing. I’m pretty sure that’s a thing.
