The 2015 NFL Draft Will Be in Either Chicago or Los Angeles
Apparently New York’s Radio City Music Hall is too good for the NFL. The league wanted to hold the 2015 draft there from either April 22-25 or April 29-May 2, but the venue could not accommodate them. So Roger Goodell was like, fine, screw you guys, we’re taking our draft and going somewhere else where we’ll be appreciated.
That somewhere else, we know now, will either be Chicago or Los Angeles. Goodell said another venue in New York was considered, but quickly ruled out. Then, after 12 cities expressed interest in hosting the draft, they decided to focus on the second- and third-largest cities in the United States. Shocking.
“They both have tremendous bids,” Goodell explained, which means he’s probably going to play one city against the other to get the most favorable deal possible.
Of course, the 2014 NFL Draft was held from May 8-10, and if the league had kept the draft there, they probably could have stayed in New York. However, teams didn’t like the later draft because it gave them less time to prepare for OTAs and training camp. So the league is trying to move them up one or two weeks.
So which city do you want to see host the 2015 NFL Draft? La La Land, or the Windy City?
