Cam Newton Gives Shoes Off His Feet to Fan in Wheel Chair at Panthers Training Camp (Pic)
Cam Newton was a huge star in Charlotte the minute he got drafted first overall by the Carolina Panthers back in 2011. However, after leading the Panthers to a 12-4 record last year and the team’s first playoff appearance since 2008, fulfilling his destiny and becoming an official NFL Franchise Quarterback™, he’s a sports hero. And yesterday, at the Panthers’ training camp, he lived definitely lived up to that rep.
After practice, as he was walking off the field, Newton stopped to sign some autographs. And that alone was pretty nice, since standing around and signing stuff is not always the first thing you want to do after a gruelling football practice. But then Cam went way above and beyond that.
Upon noticing a young man in a wheel chair, Cam went over, took the shoes off his feet, signed them, and gave them to kid. Then Cam walked back to the locker room in his socks.
SI’s Peter King summarized the situaiton perfectly:
These people love Cam Newton.

Of course they love him. He’s turning into a class act before their very eyes.
