Watch This Amazing Footage of a Home Run Ball Landing in a Woman’s Beer (Video)
I’m going to go out on a limb and say the video you are about to watch is the most awesome thing you will see all week.
No, it’s not a little girl crying because she just realized her baby brother is going to grow up. (If you’re reading this in the future, that was a thing that was popular this week.) It’s super slow-motion footage of a home run ball landing in and exploding one very unlucky baseball fan’s $8 beer. And the best part is that, unlike everyone else around her, the fan wanted absolutely nothing to do with the home run ball. She was cowering, and like a cat who knows which dinner guest hates cats, it found her.
It happened during the Pirates-Giants game yesterday afternoon at AT&T Park in San Francisco, on a two-run blast to left field by Pirates short stop Jordy Mercer. The ball landed right in the woman’s cup. And by “landed right in” I don’t mean it hit the side of the cup, or it hit the rim of the cup. I mean it went right in, like a Ray Allen three pointer, only instead of hitting nothing but net, it hit nothing but beer.
The resulting explosion was fantastic. The footage looked like some Myth Busters experiment.
Here it is in video form:

And, because I honestly cannot get enough of this, here it is one more time in photographic form:
Seriously, what are the chances of this happening? They’ve got to be astronomical.
