Bryce Harper Trolls Braves Fans by Dragging Foot Through “A” Logo at Turner Field (Video)

bryce harper drags leg through braves logo behind home plate

Braves fans already hated Nationals slugger Bryce Harper. He’s the best player on their team’s biggest division rival, and at times he comes off as being a little arrogant. So yeah, they booed him every time he stepped to the plate at Turner Field on Saturday night.

But now, after Harper responded to the boos in a typically Harperian way—which is to say, like a petulant child—the vitriol has reached a fever pitch.

So what did Bryce Harper do? As he walked to the plate on Saturday night, he dragged his foot across the Braves’ “A” logo etched in the dirt behind home plate. The Braves TV broadcast team said he did it twice, while the Atlanta Journal-Constitution said he did it three times. But we know for sure he did it at least once.

After the game reporters asked Harper about the supposed logo desecration, and he offered up this explanation:

That’s the last thing on my mind when I’m walking up to the plate. I really had no idea. When [a team staffer] came up to me, I had no clue that I did anything. Seriously, that’s the last thing on my mind going to face Harang or Kimbrel or somebody like that. I had no idea why that was such a big deal. Of course, that’s the last thing on my mind.

Bryce, I think I speak for everyone when I say that’s a clown answer, bro. It certainly didn’t placate Braves fans. He’s a sampling of what they had to say on the Twitters:

And, for the record, the Braves were not amused, either:

Oh silly Bryce. That will teach you to kick dirt.
