Jamal Crawford Got Sir Mix-a-Lot to Perform “Baby Got Back” at His Wedding (Video)
I don’t know how it happened, but somehow “Baby Got Back” by Sir Mix-a-Lot—a song all about how this one fat guy only wants to have sex with women who have large butts—has become a wedding reception standard. If you had told me this when I was a kid I never would have believed you. I bought the single on cassette and my parents took it away from me because it was “inappropriate,” and now moms, aunts, and grandmas know all the lyrics.
The future is a weird, weird place.
Anyway, I bring this up because it pertains to the recent wedding of Los Angeles Clippers guard Jamal Crawford. You see, while the actual wedding was a bit more extravagant and the guest list a bit more star-studded—Chris Paul and Blake Griffin weren’t at the last wedding you went to, were they?—the reception was just like every other reception in that they played “Baby Got Back.”
Of course, when I say “they” played “Baby Got Back” I don’t mean a couple of rent-a-jocks. I mean Sir Mix-a-Lot and his crew. Because yep, Jamal Crawford got Seattle’s most famous rapper to play his wedding reception.
Take a look:
No word on whether The B-52s performed “Love Shack,” but apparently The Isley Brothers were unavailable to perform “Shout.”
