New Mexico State Horse Runs Over New Mexico State Student Prior to Football Game (Video)

new mexico state horse knocks over student

Do you consider yourself a huge sports fan? Would you do anything for your team?

Well how about getting knocked over by a galloping horse? Would you do that? Because that’s the fate that befell one unlucky college football fan last week, and she got right up, dusted herself off, and went right on with the cheering.

It all happened prior to the New Mexico State-Cal Poly game last Thursday. You see, before every NMSU Aggies home football game at Aggie Memorial Stadium, the team’s mascot, Pistol Pete, rides around the field on a horse named Keystone. And last Thursday’s season-opener against Cal Poly was no exception. However, on this occasion, as Pete and Keystone were doing their laps, they cut in a little too close to a student who works for the NMSU athletics marketing department, colliding with her and knocking her on her butt.

Take a look:

Fortunately, this story has a happy ending. The student, whose name is Zaina Atyani, walked away relatively unscathed:

In fact, pretty soon after she was joking about it:

And just a few days later, Atyani was back on her feet and partying hard on Labor Day weekend:

Go college!
