Let’s All Watch a High School Football Player Faceplant…Hard (Video + GIF)
Do I feel a little bit bad that watching a poor high school football player faceplant makes me happy? Of course I do. I’m not a monster.
Do I feel bad enough to repress my baser instincts? No. No I do not. So let me tell you about it.
The kid in question plays for the Liberty High Patriots in Henderson, Nevada, a suburb of Las Vegas. At a game that appears to have been played last year—because so far the Patriots have only played two games, and neither of their opponents wear gold and red or have a “C” on their helmet—the kid goes long for a pass downfield. However, that pass goes about five yards out of bounds, and while chasing after it the receiver trips on a TV camera cable, stumbles, and then faceplants right on the ledge where the turf meets the track.
Fortunately the kid pops right back up, which is probably why I don’t feel bad gawking. But watching it still hurts to watch.
Take a look at the video:
Aaaand now the GIF:
If this play did happen last year, I have no idea why we’re just seeing it now. But better late than never, right?
