Bills Defensive Coordinator Jim Schwartz Carried Off the Field After Win Over Lions (Pic)
Why in the hell was Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz carried off the field in Detroit yesterday?
Well, it wasn’t because the win over the Lions earned the Bills a playoff spot or anything. Yes, it was a big win, and yes, it did keep them atop the AFC East standings. But this is just Week 5. There’s a lot of football to play.
Did it have to do with the fact that the Bills held Matt Stafford, Calvin Johnson, and Reggie Bush to just one offensive touchdown all day? Sure, kind of. But both Johnson and Bush left the game with injuries. So the achievement wasn’t that impressive.
The real reason we saw Jim Schwartz carried off the field in Detroit yesterday is because Schwartz was the coach of the Lions until last January. And after getting hired as the DC for the Bills, he told his new team he couldn’t wait to beat his old one, and that when he did he wanted to be carried off the field.
In other words, he was basically trolling his old team.
Of course, this didn’t go over well with Lions fans. And some of them were quick to point out the obvious…
