Kobe Airball? Black Mamba Airs Out First Shot of the Preseason (Video)
Basketball fans everywhere are eager to see if 36-year-old Kobe Bryant can regain his mojo after missing most of last season with a ruptured achilles tendon and fractured left knee. The Black Mamba practiced with the Lakers for the first time last week, going hard for the first two hours and 15 minutes of the three hour practice under new head coach Byron Scott, and afterward he said he felt like himself. But a lot of old stars say that, and they aren’t really themselves. What we really want to see is Kobe playing an actual game. That will give us an idea of what to expect.
Well, last night Kobe made his preseason debut with the Lakers against the Nuggets. And on his very first shot, he fired a very rare Kobe airball.

Yeah, that doesn’t look good.
The good news, though, is it didn’t take too long for Kobe to shake the rust off. Here he is later in the game:
In the end, Kobe had 13 points, fives assists, and two rebounds in 21 minutes. And that’s actually pretty damn good, all things considered.
