Kobe Took a Dwight Howard Elbow to the Face Last Night, and He Didn’t Appreciate It (Video)

dwight howard elbow

In case you were wondering, Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard have not buried the metaphorical hatchet. Last night the Lakers and Rockets kicked off the 2014-15 NBA season against each other in Los Angeles, and midway through the fourth quarter a Dwight Howard elbow to Kobe’s head set off a mild skirmish.

Was it a vicious elbow? Hardly. In fact, it looks like Howard just barely nicked Kobe. But it was enough to piss off the proud Lakers star, whose team was already getting throttled.

Take a look at the video:

Did anybody else here the insanely stupid things the announcers were saying? First, at the 0:28 mark the guy said Kobe and Dwight were on the same team but never on the court together (Um, what?).  Then at the 1:14 mark the other guy says, “Obviously a pro-Laker crowd here…” Um, yeah, it’s in Los Angeles. You don’t even need to explain it. We all know how sports fandom works.

But I digress. In case you missed it, or in case you’re lip reading skills aren’t up to snuff, during the skirmish Kobe had some choice words for Dwight:

In the end, the video reply ended up confirming the original flagrant foul call for the Dwight Howard elbow, and both Kobe and Howard received technicals for their yapping.
