Soccer Mayhem: Tel Aviv Derby Suspended After Apsh*t Fans Invade Pitch (Video)
To be honest, I’m not really sure who’s crazier: the shirtless degenerate who ran onto the field during Monday’s Tel Aviv Derby and attacked a player, or the referee who gave that player a red card for defending himself.
Either way, things got way out of hand during the annual Israeli Premier League match between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv.
It all started with an equalizer goal by Maccabi’s Eran Zahavi just 22 minutes in. You see, Zahavi used to play for Hapoel, but now he plays for their bitter rivals. And apparently it was all just too much for Hapoel’s hooligan contingent to bear, so one of them ran out onto the field and attacked Zahavi.
As you would expect, Zahavi defended himself. At first he just pushed the idiot away, and then, when he came back at him, he tried to fend him off with the business end of his cleats before security finally arrived and put the guy in a choke hold.
However, it was after the pitch invader was apprehended that the real mayhem started. The referee, who apparently is not from planet earth, gave Eran Zahavi a red card. So Zahavi started marching off the field, imploring his teammates to come with him.
That’s when the field was basically overrun with idiots, forcing officials to call the game off.
Take a look:
Stay classy, Tel Aviv.
