Stop What You’re Doing and Watch This Incredible Vladimir Tarasenko Goal Right Now (Video + GIFs)
I’m starting to think this Vladimir Tarasenko kid might be pretty good. Last week the 22-year-old St. Louis Blues forward scored five goals, so on Monday the NHL named him their First Star of the Week. Then he celebrated the honor by scoring an absolutely filthy goal against the Rangers on Monday night. Seriously, it was so good that, for the rest of the season, all you’ll have to say is “the Tarasenko goal” and every hockey fan will know what you’re talking about. The kid got the puck in the neutral zone on a Blues powerplay, skated right through three Rangers players, cut right to left across the crease, got Cam Talbot to commit in that direction, and then reached back the other way and tucked the puck into the goal with one hand. Here it is in real-time:
And here it is in slow-motion: There’s a long way to go in the 2014-15 NHL season, but I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that will probably go down as one of the best goals of the year. Keep an eye on this kid. He’s gonna be a star.
