Brock Osweiler Reaction to Peyton Manning Stealing Reps During Blowout Is Classic (Video)
This right here is our first post ever about Denver Broncos backup quarterback Brock Osweiler. Unfortunately, it’s not about a Brock Osweiler touchdown pass. It’s about a Brock Osweiler reaction—specifically, a Brock Osweiler reaction to Peyton Manning going back onto the field during a 41-10 blowout over the hapless Oakland Raiders.
You see, on any other team in the NFL, behind any other quarterback, Osweiler would have gone into the game in the third quarter with his team up on the worst team in the NFL by 31 points. However, the former Arizona State QB was drafted by the Broncos in the second round of the 2012 NFL draft…one month after the Broncos signed Peyton Manning to a five-year $96 million contract.
Now, in the long run, getting to learn how to be an NFL quarterback from one of the best to ever play the position is probably the best thing that could have happened to Osweiler. But in the short run it sucks. Because Manning never takes a play off. So yesterday, when Osweiler thought he was finally going to get a chance to throw some actual passes, Manning decided he’d go out for one more possession.
Brock? Brock was utterly dejected. Take a look:
The good news for Brock? He did get to take over and play the fourth quarter.
The bad news? He got to attempt just five passes, as the Broncos were content to just run the ball and run out the clock.
