Derrick Rose Assist Is the Highlight of Bulls Win Over Pistons (Video)

derrick rose assist to noah vs pistons

An assist is not usually a highlight unto itself. It’s usually a prelude to the highlight. However, that rule of thumb does not apply to this Derrick Rose assist. In this case, the assist is the main attraction.

Rose, the former NBA MVP turned glass-legged invalid, has been nursing a sprained ankle that he sustained just two games into his first season back after missing most of the previous two with two separate knee injuries. So needless to say, every time the guy takes the court fans hold their breath.

Last night, though, Rose made it through 32 minutes against the Detroit Pistons without getting injured, contributing 24 points and seven assists—one of which was an absolutely sick double-clutch dish to Joakim Noah under the hoop.

Here’s the video of Derrick Rose’s double-clutch pass to Noah:

And here’s the Vine, so you can just watch it over…and over…and over:

Thing of beauty, isn’t it? Pistons forward Greg Monroe sure was fooled.

In any case, if we’re lucky, Rose will stay healthy and we’ll get to watch him do this all season—maybe even against LeBron and the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals.
