Ivory Coast Fans Storm the Pitch to Celebrate Listless 0-0 Draw Vs. Cameroon (Video + Pics)
Yesterday the Ivory Coast national soccer team hosted Cameroon in Abidjan for their final qualification game for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations. Cameroon entered the game in first place in Group D, ahead of Ivory Coast by three points. And with the first and second place teams guaranteed qualification, the Indomitable Lions had it locked up. However, things were a little bit dicier for Ivory Coast. They needed at least a draw to guarantee qualification with a second place finish.
Fortunately for Ivory Coast, Cameroon had no intention of playing spoiler. The two sides played a listless game, capped by three straight minutes of Ivory Coast passing the ball back and forth to each other (just like that episode of The Simpsons) to close out a 0-0 draw.
African soccer corrupt? I don’t know what you’re talking about.
Ivory Coast fans weren’t turned off by the lackluster conclusion to their team’s successful qualification campaign, however. They were pumped, and after the game they took it upon themselves to make things exciting by storming the pitch and tearing things apart.

Check out the clubs those Ivorian riot cops use. They are not messing around over there.
