Justin Hunter Suffers Lacerated Spleen, Coughs Up Blood After This Hit (Video)
The Tennessee Titans’ Justin Hunter is spending Sunday in a Houston hospital where the wide receiver is being treated for a lacerated spleen he suffered during Sunday’s loss to the Houston Texans.
The hit was delivered by Texans safety Danieal Manning on the first pass attempt of the game by Titans quarterback Zach Mettenberger, which resulted in a Jonathan Joseph interception. Hunter actually returned to the game after the hit, but what was initially believed to be just a minor stomach injury progressively got worse, until Hunter was coughing up blood and finally taken to a hospital where he was diagnosed with a lacerated spleen.
According to ProFootballTalk.com, it’s believed at the moment that Justin Hunter will not require surgery and his injury is not life-threatening.
