This Brutal Dez Bryant Stiff Arm Perfectly Sums Up The Cowboys’ Beatdown Of The Bears (Video)
If you had to pick one play to showcase the Dallas Cowboys’ complete dismantling of the Chicago Bears, this Dez Bryant stiff arm would do nicely.
Just as Bryant manhandled cornerback Kyle Fuller, so too did Dallas dominate Chicago. On paper, it was a two-possession game. Don’t let the score fool you. This was a blowout, plain and simple.
Early on, the Bears showed some signs of life. In the second quarter, they answered a Dallas touchdown with an impressive drive of their own. But in the process of tying the game at 7 to 7, wide receiver Brandon Marshall received a nasty rib injury, and had to be taken from the stadium by ambulance. From then on, it was Dallas’ game, and the Cowboys went on to score 28 unanswered points.
In the forth quarter, the Bears attempted to mount a comeback. Thanks to a successful onside kick, they pulled within ten points with six minutes left. But it was too little, too late, and a Jay Cutler interception in the final two minutes was the final nail in the coffin.
Tony Romo ended the night with 21 completions for 205 yards, including three touchdowns. DeMarco Murray rushed for 179 yards and one touchdown. Their combined efforts brought the Cowboys their ninth win of the year, ensuring that the franchise will finish above .500 for the first time in five seasons.
Despite the humiliating loss, there is one small sliver of hope for the Bears. Despite dropping to five and eight on the season, the team was somehow not mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. On a side note, it’s also not mathematically impossible for me to sleep with Kate Upton. But it’s not looking good.
