UCF Hail Mary Touchdown Gives Knights a Share of AAC Title (Video)
The East Carolina Pirates looked like they had a 30-26 victory wrapped up in their final American Athletic Conference game of the season….And then they were shocked by a UCF Hail Mary touchdown as time expired.
It all seemed so surreal that even the commentators didn’t appear to believe what was unfolding before their eyes. But with just five seconds remaining on the clock and his team trailing by four, UCF quarterback Justin Holman dropped back and heaved a 51-yard bomb into the end zone that was miraculously caught by Breshad Perriman for the game-winning touchdown.
And if winning the game wasn’t already enough to make this a memorable moment in the careers of Holman and Perriman, that 51-yard touchdown pass also helped the UCF Knights earn a share of the American Athletic Conference title—along with Memphis, who also finished with a 7-1 conference record.
