Saints-Panthers Brawl Breaks Out During NFC South Battle (Video)
If you’re a Carolina Panther or a New Orleans Saint, you’ve got a lot to be frustrated about this season. Both teams have less than stellar records and the prospects for finishing a halfway decent season are looking slim at best. Those frustrations seem to have spilled out on the field as their NFC South battle earlier today featured a massive Saints-Panthers brawl in the first quarter that ended with a player ejection.
It all started after Panthers QB Cam Newton leaped into the end zone, giving his team a 16-0 lead over the Superdome’s hometown team. Newtown celebrated his score with his signature “Superman” move but New Orleans linebacker Curtis Lofton didn’t take kindly to Newton’s taunts…
Several other Panthers who saw Lofton and Newton’s interaction started scuffling and pretty soon, both teams were caught up in a typhoon of flying fists and body slams. The fight spilled out to an area behind the end zone before the refs were able to stop it. Fans at home took screenshots of the fight and starting posting clips of the brawl all over Instagram and Vine.
Here’s one video of the Saints-Panthers brawl:
The refs ejected Panthers tight end Brandon Williams for throwing some heavy punches during the brawl and when play resumed, Carolina picked up an extra point to bring the score to 17-0.
These teams need to either improve their record or put one of those inflatable clown boppers in the locker room so they’ll have something to beat up on before they take to the field next time.
