Dwight Howard Helps Terminally Ill Kid Score a Basket (Video)

I give Dwight Howard a lot of grief for being a huge tool. However, the fact is—and this might come as a bit of a surprise to you—I don’t actually know the Houston Rockets center. When I complain about him, I’m just generalizing based on snippets of his character I see here and there.

That being the case, seeing as how it’s the Christmas season, which we all know is a time of sharing and giving, I thought, hey, it’s only fair to show that the guy isn’t always a giant douchebag. And that brings us to the video below. In it, Dwight Howard helps a seven-year-old kid with terminal brain cancer score a basket at the Toyota Center prior to Saturday night’s game against the Phoenix Suns.

See for yourself:

and tears. Dwight Howard making this kid’s year. 7-year-old James Fisher has terminal brain cancer. #rockets #houston

Tugs at the old heartstrings, does it not?

Well done, Dwight. You’re on Santa’s nice list. For now.
