Referees Fist Bump Each Other During Bills-Broncos Game… But Why? (GIF)
I’m sure there are a lot of good reasons why we would see referees fist bump each other. They’re working together in a maligned profession, and I’m sure there’s a big brotherhood aspect to all of that.
However, these two referees working the Bills-Broncos game seemed to pick an odd time to do it. They gave a seemingly-celebratory fist bump after Broncos RB C.J. Anderson scored a touchdown.
I’m not entirely familiar with the ethics surrounding being a referee, but I would hazard a guess that you’re not supposed to visibly celebrate one team scoring…WITH ANOTHER REFEREE.
Here’s the Video that shows the referees fist bump each other. See if you can figure out what’s going on here:
Likely, the left-hand judge was simply congratulating the line judge for making the right call since Lefty Referee probably had a better vantage point to see Anderson cross the plane.
It looks like they’re bro-ing out because the Lefty Referee just won a prop bet with this call and he wants to show some gratitude.
