Sharks Goon John Scott Butt-Ends Tim Jackman, Knocks Him Out Cold (Video)
John Scott is one of the dirtiest players in the NHL. In fact, in the age of the NHL Department of Player Safety, he may be the dirtiest. He is a talentless goon who is put on the ice for one thing and one thing only: the hurt the other team.
He proved this last year in Buffalo, when his coach put him on the ice against Boston’s second line and he elbowed Loui Eriksson in the face. And, now playing for the Sharks, he proved it again last night when he viciously smashed Anaheim’s Tim Jackman in the jaw with the butt end of his stick.
After the blow, Jackman crumbled to the ice and laid completely motionless for a few minutes before finally moving his arms. Then he was helped up off the ice and taken to the locker room, from which he did not return.
Scott’s penalty? Oh, there was no penalty. The referees didn’t see it. But the cameras did:
Last year Scott got seven games for the headshot on Loui Eriksson. Anything short of 20 games here would be a miscarriage of justice.
Personally, I’d like to see him gone for the year. That was a blatant attempt to injure an opponent. The dude is scum.
