Texas A&M Student Assistant Hits WVU Player on the Sideline (Video)
Texas A&M Student Assistant Michael Richardson was kicked off the sideline for the second half of Monday’s Liberty Bowl after cameras caught him taking cheap shots at WVU players on at least two separate occasions.
First he attempted to throw a covert elbow—which apparently wasn’t covert enough—to the back of the head of West Virginia running back Andrew Buie:
The next time Richardson decided to take things a little further, delivering an obvious punch to the back of WVU cornerback Daryl Worley‘s head:
After seeing the footage, Aggies head coach Kevin Sumlin made the obvious decision to keep Richardson in the locker room for the second half of the Aggies’ 45-37 victory.
Richardson became a Texas A&M student assistant after sustaining a career-ending neck injury in 2012 while playing linebacker for the Aggies. And now it appears as though his career as an assistant with the team could be coming to an early end as well.
